Burma Partnership’s Website Launch Party

By Burma Partnership  •  February 22, 2010

Last night, we hosted a party to celebrate the launch of Burma Partnership’s brand new website. We invited friends and colleagues including our Working Group members – the Students and Youth Congress of Burma (SYCB), Nationalities Youth Forum (NY Forum), and Forum for Democracy in Burma (FDB) – and different organizations to join us for the occasion, as the website highlights all of the amazing work they are doing inside Burma and on the border.

Our Office Manager Hay Mung Hsoun started off the evening by welcoming the crowd in English and Burmese, and Coordinator Khin Ohmar introduced the website, which was projected on a large screen. Jessica led the audience through all of the features and sections, and emphasized how groups can contribute to the site. Thelma and Emily introduced the major campaigns of the movement, highlighting the background, updates, and resources for each. Sophia wrapped things up in Burmese, with an overview of the campaigns and Weekly Highlights.

The evening ended with a few live performances—including acoustic folk and Burmese hip-hop, and some lively discussions over dinner. Thank you to all of our friends who shared the memorable evening with us!
