Developments

Union Solidarity Development Party officials requested that village headmen in Mudon Township, Mon State, recruit 40 to 50 villagers in each village to join the party.
Unidentified people distributed leaflets urging people not to participate in the elections in Muse and Namkham, Shan State.
The Difference and Peace Party Chairman Myo Wei said that the SPDC Censorship Board suppressed his and other interviews from the latest issue of the weekly journal Pyithu Khit [People’s Age].
The SPDC Election Commission approved the registration of the Khami National Development Party and the National Democratic Force. To date, the Election Commission has granted final approval to 38 parties to participate in the polls.
Kachin State Progressive Party Chairman Tu Ja accused the SPDC Election Commission of using “dilatory tactics” in delaying their party registration.
