Canadian Foreign Minister Expresses Support for a Commission of Inquiry

On 3 September, the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lawrence Cannon, recorded a video message speaking about Canada’s support for a UN commission of inquiry into human rights violations by the military regime in Burma.

Minister Cannon reiterated the call for the regime to “respect and abide by international standards and human rights principles by conducting a process for a free, fair and transparent election.”
