Statement No. (4/2015) Agreement by the Two Sides on the Draft Text on Nationwide Ceasefire

- The Myanmar National Human Rights Commission would like to laud and honor the historic achievement that was accomplished by the signing of the agreed text on a Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement between the Union Peacemaking Working Committee (UPWC) and the Nationwide Ceasefire Coordination Team (NCCT) on 31 March 2015 in Yangon.
- As the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) will be signed after approval by the leaders of the Ethnic Armed Groups to the agreed text, the Commission hopes for the smooth and speedy implementation of the process.
- The Commission is confident that the smooth and speedy signing of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) will pave the way for the political dialogue that will reflect the desire of the people for a long and lasting peace.
