- Myanmar National Human Rights Commission would like to commend the Union Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar for its decision to be a signatory to the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR).
- The Commission also fervently looks forward to Myanmar becoming a State Party to ICESCR in the very near future and would also like to impress upon the Union Government to work towards becoming a State Party to all the other international human rights treaties.
- The Commission is committed to the principles of the mandate of the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission Law to create a Myanmar society enabling the full enjoyment by everyone of fundamental rights and human rights enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
