Press Briefing: Launch of 2014 Report on the Performance of Myanmar National Human Rights Commission

The 2014 report on the performance of Myanmar National Human Rights Commission (MNHRC), co-authored by Burma Partnership and Equality Myanmar, will be launched at Myanmar Journalist Network office on Thursday, 25 September 2014. The report contributed to and was published in the 2014 ANNI Report on Performance and Establishment of National Human Rights Institutions in Asia which was recently released in Dubai and covers the developments that took place over the course of 2013 and significant events in the first quarter of 2014.

Burma Partnership and Equality Myanmar have been monitoring the activities and performance of the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission since its establishment on 5 September 2011 through Notification (No.34/2011) issued by the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. They also previously published briefing papers, recommendations on the Enabling Law and 2013 annual report on the performance of the MNHRC.

The organizations will be holding a joint press conference to discuss their performance and effectiveness of the MNHRC with input from Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development (FORUM-ASIA) on trends of developments of National Human Rights Institutions from a regional perspective.

အေၾကာင္းအရာ။        ။ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံ အမ်ဳိးသား လူ႕အခြင့္အေရး ေကာ္မရွင္၏ စြမ္းေဆာင္ရည္ကို ဆန္းစစ္သံုးသပ္ ထားသည့္ အစီရင္ခံစာ မိတ္ဆက္ပြဲအစီအစဥ္သို႕ တက္ေရာက္ရန္ ဖိတ္ၾကားျခင္း

ျမန္မာ့အေရး ပူးေပါင္းေဆာင္ရြက္ သူမ်ားအဖြဲ႕ (Burma Partnership) ႏွင့္ ညီမွ်ျခင္းျမန္မာ (Equality Myanmar) တို႕သည္ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံ အမ်ဳိးသားလူ႕အခြင့္အေရး ေကာ္မရွင္ကို ဖြဲ႕စည္းလိုက္ေၾကာင္း စက္တင္ဘာလ (၅) ရက္၊ ၂၀၁၁ ခုႏွစ္ တြင္ ျပည္ေထာင္စု အစိုးရအဖြဲ႕ အမိန္႕ေၾကာ္ျငာစာ (အမွတ္၊ ၃၄/ ၂၀၁၁) ထုတ္ျပန္ခ်ိန္မွစ၍ ေကာ္မရွင္၏ လႈပ္ရွားမႈမ်ားႏွင့္ လုပ္ငန္း အေကာင္အထည္ ေဖာ္မႈမ်ားကို ေစာင့္ၾကည့္ မွတ္တမ္းတင္ခဲ့ၾက သည္။ ထိုသို႕ ေစာင့္ၾကည့္ေနစဥ္ ကာလအတြင္း သံုးသပ္ခ်က္ စာတမ္းမ်ားႏွင့္ အစီရင္ခံစာမ်ားကိုလည္း ထုတ္ျပန္ခဲ့သည္။

ယခု ၂၀၁၄ ခုႏွစ္အတြက္ ျမန္မာ့အေရး ပူးေပါင္းေဆာင္ရြက္ သူမ်ားအဖြဲ႕ႏွင့္ ညီမွ်ျခင္းျမန္မာတို႔မွ ပူးေပါင္း ထုတ္ျပန္ထားေသာ အမ်ဳိးသား လူ႕အခြင့္အေရး ေကာ္မရွင္၏ လုပ္ႏိုင္စြမ္းရည္ကို မွတ္တမ္း တင္ထားသည့္ သံုးသပ္ထားသည္ ဒုတိယ အၾကိမ္ေျမာက္ အစီရင္ခံစာကို မိတ္ဆက္ရန္အတြက္ ေအာက္ပါ အစီအစဥ္အတိုင္း သတင္းစာ ရွင္းလင္းပြဲတစ္ရပ္ ျပဳလုပ္သြားမည္ျဖစ္ရာ သတင္းမီဒီယာ မိတ္ေဆြမ်ားမွ တက္ေရာက္ၾကပါရန္ ေလးစားစြာ ဖိတ္ၾကားအပ္ ပါသည္။

ဤအစီရင္ခံစာကို အာရွပစိဖိတ္ေဒသ အမ်ဳိးသား လူ႕အခြင့္အေရး အေဆာက္အအံုမ်ားဆိုင္ရာ NGO ကြန္ယက္ (ANNI) မွ ပူးေပါင္း ထုတ္ျပန္ခဲ့ေသာ အာရွေဒသတြင္းရွိ အမ်ဳိးသားလူ႕အခြင့္အေရး အေဆာက္အအံုမ်ား၏ ဖြဲ႕စည္းတည္ေထာင္ျခင္းႏွင့္ ၎တို႕၏ စြမ္းေဆာင္ရည္ ၂၀၁၄ ခုႏွစ္ အစီရင္ခံစာ၏ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံက႑ အစီရင္ခံခ်က္ အေနျဖင့္ ထုတ္ျပန္ခဲ့ျခင္းျဖစ္သည္။
