Media Advisory – Report Release on Paunglaung Dam

YANGON – A Press Conference will be held from 2 to 4 PM at House of Memories (U Wisara road, east side, between Dhamma Zedi Road and Myaynigone junction) to release the report “Forced Displacements and Destroyed Lives around Upper Paunglaung Dam in Shan State, Myanmar,” by Physicians for Human Rights (PHR), Land in Our Hands (LIOH) and Kayan New generation Youth (KNGY).

The report details livelihoods, health and food security impacts on 8000 people displaced by Paunglaung Dam. Representatives from the affected community as well as PHR, LIOH, KNGY will discuss the report findings.

WHEN:  2PM on Monday, October 5.

WHERE:  House of Memories is on the east side of U Wisara road,  between Dhamma Zedi Road and Myaynigone junction.

ဤအစီရင္ခံစာတြင္ ေပါင္းေလာင္ေရကာတာတည္ေဆာက္ျခင္းေၾကာင့္ ေရႊ ့ေျပာင္းခံရေသာ လူေပါင္း ၈၀၀၀ ေက်ာ္ရဲ့ လူေနမႈဘ၀၊ က်န္းမာေရး ႏွင့္ စား၀တ္ေနေရးလံုျခံဳေရး တို ့ကိုအေသးစိတ္ေဖာ္ျပ ထားသည္။ ၾကံဳေတြ ့ခံရေသာ ေဒသခံကိုယ္စားလွယ္မ်ားအျပင္ PHR၊ LIOH၊ KNGY တို ့ရွာေဖြေတြ ႔ ရိွ ခ်က္မ်ားကို ေဆြးေႏြးသြားမည္ျဖစ္သည္။
