Burma Briefing No. 7: Support for a United Nations Commission of Inquiry

This briefing details the growing international support for a UN Commission of Inquiry into war crimes and crimes against humanity in Burma.

In March 2010 Tomas Ojea Quintana, current UN Special Rapporteur on Myanmar, called for the establishment of a UN Commission of Inquiry into war crimes and crimes against humanity in Burma.

*** Updated: 16 countries have now expressed their support for a Commission of Inquiry: Australia, the UK, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, the US, Canada, Hungary, New Zealand, the Netherlands, France, Ireland, Lithuania, Estonia, Belgium, Latvia and Denmark.
