Toolkit for Commission of Inquiry Campaign

The following are some of the tools currently available for activists in the global campaign calling for a UN-led Commission of Inquiry into possible crimes against humanity and war crimes in Burma.

Template Letters to ASEAN

The following letters are addressed to Foreign Ministers of ASEAN Member States (with the exception of Burma):

These can be sent by organizations or used as part of a public letter writing campaign.

Template Letters to the European Union

There are 3 template letters available for European Union member states:

Letter for European organizations to send to their national government
Letter for European individuals to send to their Foreign Minister
Letter to the German Embassy – this letter can be sent prior to demonstrations planned for 8 August. This letter can be delivered during protests.

Draft Media Release

This media release can be edited and used for events calling on the European Union and member states to ensure that the establishment of a Commission of Inquiry is included in the draft United Nations General Assembly resolution. Download it here.
